SCHINDLER INDIA CONTRACTS

Schindler India recently announced two major contracts. In the first, the company is to provide and install elevators for 40 stations serving Phase 1 of the Bangalore City metro. The new line is scheduled for completion by September 2012 and will be equipped with 127 elevators. These Schindler’s elevators will be produced in China and are energy efficient. The other project includes the installation of 28 high-speed elevators for a commercial development in South Mumbai. The company is the sole supplier of elevators for the complex, which is to rise in Central Mumbai’s emerging Central Business District. The development will include a large central landscaped plaza, food courts, a clubhouse and recreation areas.
